Abstract

The sample is a product of appropriation of Ramírez Botero's doctoral research in which, after studying the work of the Cartagena painter Cecilia Porras, he managed to put the story in context to explain how he contributed to the modern art of Colombia. To do this, he studied the genesis of the current Museum of Modern Art in Cartagena and the Superior School of Fine Arts, as well as the concept of "modern art" in the landmark period of 1957-1959. From conventional studios where artists prevail, Ramírez Botero went to one where more aspects are interwoven.
