Abstract

The central theme of this article is the symbolic construction and representation of the idea of ​​the cultural "macho" within the sphere
of carnival. It is intended to reveal the significance and the type of transgression that is specified with the ritualization of the body
within the period of carnival in order to present contributions to the theory of carnival from an anthroposmotic perspective that lead
to a reflection on the culture and the discourses that are energized the carnival. In this way, a tour is made of the contributions of
theories about carnival elaborated by various authors and from these the discussion about the way in which society institutes the
androcentric vision in the culture of carnival is expanded; The nature of the discourse of the passions and the ritualization of the
body is raised from the dual relationship of Eros and Thanato, in addition to the objectification of the transgression in the cultural
condition of the "male" in the face of the idea of ​​virility.
