This article explores the evolving role of the art spectator in the digital age, emphasizing the impact of technology on artistic perception and interaction. Drawing from thinkers like Baudrillard, Benjamin, and Marcuse, the author discusses how digital tools, virtual and augmented reality, and immersive environments reshape the aesthetic experience. Spectators are no longer passive recipients but active participants who generate meaning and co-create artistic narratives. Through examples like immersive Van Gogh exhibitions and the Velázquez Tech museum, the article illustrates the blending of physical and virtual presence. It also highlights the need for artists to embrace new media and reimagine traditional boundaries between artwork, creator, and audience. In this framework, the spectator becomes a key agent of dissemination, interpretation, and transformation of art in the 21st century.
