The resemantization of words in high school students: a look from lexical availability studies

The article that is presented addresses the determination of the available lexicon of twelfth grade students in the province of Matanzas in the center of interest: The parts of the body and analyzes the resemantization processes that have taken place in some words, linked to this topic, particularly the related to the sexual parts. The application of the Pan-Hispanic Project methodology enabled the authors to demonstrate that these studies become a valuable tool for language teaching with a sociocultural approach to youth language; the results obtained reveal the use of own terms related to the center of interest: body parts and their availability.
